Silicon Power has recently expanded its range of Portable Hard Drives with SuperSpeed USB 3.0 connection by introducing the Armor A30, a product that joins the four other models in the same series, including the Armor A80 we reviewed about a year ago.
Silicon Power Armor A30 1TB – Overview
The main feature that most distinguishes this series of external drives is the resistance to shock and accidental falls, certified by the strict standard U.S. Military Test MIL-STD-810G Method 516.6 procedure IV (transit drop test), in which you drop the device object test from a height of 122 cm for 26 times, affecting each of these profiles (face, edge and corner).
The Silicon Power Armor A30 is available in capacities of 500GB or 1TB and comes in two colors: black / orange and white / gray, the first more aggressive and sporty, the other more elegant and discreet. Another feature that makes this drive is the only practical as particular positioning of the USB cable that comes with that, as you can see from the pictures, does not go unnoticed.
The model received at our editorial team and the subject of our review today is the 1TB version, identified by the product number SP010TBPHDA30S3K.
We leave the table with the main features of the new Silicon Power Armor A30.

Conclusions
In these days of testing we have dealt with some vehemence the Silicon Power Armor A30, knocking him to right and left like a wallet or a pack of cigarettes and simulating even an accidental fall from about a meter in height: in spite of this, the test drive at no scratches or dents of any kind and is fully functional. The extreme robustness and practicality are undoubtedly the highlights of this unit, which, moreover, turns out to have a look very glamorous and sporty.
The terabytes of space made available by the model being tested (remember that there is also a 500GB version) is ideal for storing a large number of media files and take them with you wherever you decide to go. The Armor A30 also features even respectable performance thanks to the fast USB 3.0 interface and drives Seagate ST1000LM024 contained in it, which turned out to be also very quiet.
